MIT-WPU and BSBI School of Business and Innovation Sign Strategic MoU to Strengthen Global Education Collaboration
Pune, August 2026 — MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU), Pune, and BSBI School of Business and Innovation, Germany, have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen academic collaboration, joint research, and global learning opportunities between India and Europe.
BSBI School of Business and Innovation, based in Berlin, is part of Global University Systems and offers a range of business, innovation, creative industries, and technology-focused programmes designed to prepare students for international careers.
The agreement was signed by Hon. Dr Rahul V. Karad, Executive President of MIT-WPU, and Prof. Dr Kyriakos Kouveliotis, Provost of BSBI School of Business and Innovation and Chief Academic Officer of Global University Systems, Germany. The signing ceremony was also attended by Prof. Shiv Tripathi, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at BSBI School of Business and Innovation, and Mr Ganesh Pokale, Registrar of MIT-WPU.
The partnership is designed to foster academic and cultural exchange, collaborative research projects, international mobility programmes, reciprocal academic visits, and technology-enabled learning initiatives. Through these areas of cooperation, both institutions aim to create new opportunities for students, faculty members, and researchers while equipping learners with the global competencies required in today’s international education and employment landscape.
Speaking at the signing, Hon. Dr Rahul V. Karad highlighted the importance of building bridges between academic communities and international institutions, noting that the collaboration will support knowledge sharing, innovation, and meaningful global engagement.
Prof. Dr Kyriakos Kouveliotis described the agreement as the beginning of a new phase in India-Europe academic collaboration. He emphasised that both institutions will work towards student and faculty exchange programmes, reciprocal academic visits, and collaborative research initiatives.
During his interaction with MIT-WPU faculty members, Prof. Dr Kouveliotis also addressed the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence in higher education. He noted that AI should be used responsibly to support administrative processes, such as curriculum updates and document formatting, enabling educators to dedicate more time to mentoring students and strengthening classroom engagement.
The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to academic excellence, internationalisation, responsible innovation, and globally engaged education.
